All chaos and randomness of the universe had to, at some point and some way, become slower chaos and a little less random. Without some organization the living side of nature would never have formed the proper structures for homeostasis. Energy eventually created structure on the quantum level.
Where does the ego come from within the structures that create the brain? Where does the mind stop and the body begin? Where does the self decide to think and do? If everything that we do is created specifically from the neurons how does it form our moral selves, philosophy, and intentions? There really can’t be a good or a bad, just a “do” that are opposites. Yin and Yang.
The brain is the only organ that allows us to think, reason, imagine, and understand. The main drive for an organism is to reproduce to keep a species from going extinct. They start the process by getting signals from the outside world, especially what is beneficial for survival. Most organisms do not need to know the truth of nature but they must know when to run from a predator. The cognitive system has evolved and continues to do so. Our cognition has developed an understanding of science, with its laws, objects and measurements. But out of all that, our survival isn’t based on what we learn about the universe, psychology, mathematics, or even social traditions. Where do we draw the boundaries for what we learn?
