As I work to harvest the last of my brussel sprouts before the impending snow fall, I look around and see my garden beds completely empty. My time working with the earth, sun, water, and plants are completely finished until spring. The time of tending, watering, and weeding is finished until then as well. It is a matter of falling back on what little of my harvest is left and enjoy the snowfall.
Once spring arrives the cycle will start all over again. Seed to growth to harvest to withering, year after year. All of my hard work ends up in my belly and the plants do not care that they are eaten. Out in the wild the seeds would be spread containing future energy and potential for life to continue. One day my time will come to an end. The plants will in turn eat me. Tao.

Succinctly put Mr Methodic.

Thanks for stopping by. I've only had the opportunity to read a couple of your posts but foresee quoting your blog in the future. You've some great insight!
What you've written is even more true than you may know. Just the other day I heard the brussel sprouts in a heated discussion with the carrots and the peas. They were trying to figure out if you'd taste better medium rare or well done. :D
Lightly seasoned, seared in a pan wth a little olive oil, then cooked to perfection in a convection oven. Served with a side of manure and worm droppings. They can't get enough.
Oh come on now . . . get real people . . . What about the gravy?
You can't go 'rambling' on about being consumed by mother nature and suggest in an un-'Methodic' way that she doesn't enjoy a little sauce!
As for the flavour; any ideas? Maybe not . . . . . . .
;-)
A turnip puree for a sauce. Yes, they also eat each other.
