Days

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense." -

-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I've never taken the time to read Ralph Waldo Emerson. It is such a shame, too. I came across this quote in a book and decided to see if he had any other sayings of significant value. The surprise was great. I've certainly missed out and need to make more time to examine his writing deeper. I think that there will be a lot to apply to philosophy and life. I’ve spent most of my life hearing about him and others spouting his quotes and never took the time to notice. I’ve truly burned through some great times in life not having a clue to what was really missed.

I don't think any other writer has done as much to inform the American identity and inspire American creativity as Emerson.

Ok, I admit it. I've never read Emerson. I think I'll have to now. Thanks.
