A flower growing in the middle of a field is not capable of reproduction all by itself. Suddenly a bee flies over to the flower looking for some pollen. In harmony the bee takes what it needs and spreads some pollen on the flower allowing it to reproduce. The bee then leaves the flower and goes about its own business.
When people come together as a team or a group they are able to better accomplish a large task than what a single person could do alone. Together they can form new ideas and action to move forward. If the people in the group do not compromise who they are there will be a benefit for all that participate and more growth. The important issue is that a person does not lose their individuality. Everyone has their own path and when the group concludes each person will have their own experience from the project. They will separate and continue their journey with their new experience.

A man lies on his deathbed, family and friends all gather around as he takes his last few breaths . . .
. . regardless, he dies alone . . .
Is there such a thing as individuality? Some say not, they point to 'Oneness' or Unity . . . the state of being-ness or is-ness etc etc etc.
Having said that, as I said previously, Cross Blog Pollination has value :)
I just thought I would ask, have you heard of Tony Parsons? Check out his website here: http://www.theopensecret.com/
It's well worth investigating and if you can, find time to watch the video.
Cheers :)
For me, it all depends on the project and the group. In some instances, a group can do a better job. In other instances, however, a single motivated individual can do just as well, if not better.
That said, none of us can exist in isolation.
Even if alone, interaction with others still has some affect on us. I'm still trying to get the 1yogi2many view point down. It really causes the head to spin sometimes. :D I've spent almost my whole life with the rest of the worlds view point of how we exist. Takes some work to see it another way.
I've heard of Tony Parson but have not interacted with any of his work. Right now I'm 1/4 of the way through "Hoofprints of an Ox" and it has taken a month to get this far. My life is busy. The good news is that I'm getting ready to brew my first batch of beer in a couple years. Exciting!
Yay! That's delightful to be reminded of. Screw my grammar.
Hello again Mr Methodic,
I wouldn't spend too much time trying to work things out . . . simply see through the words to discover the underlying truth! Did I really just say 'simply? If only it were that simple . . .
Truth is often discovered in apparent contradiction, paradox and irony; things are not always what they seem . . and we each have a lifetime of conditioning to transcend, divine through or move beyond . . .
By the way I enjoyed your post, and I've been involved in team management myself over the years . . . I used to promote the T.E.A.M. approach:
Together Everyone Achieves More, which they often do!
However . . a friend of mine once told me, that there is no "I" in "Team", but there are four in "Platitude-Quoting Idiot". Don't you just love friends? ;-)

The Master has no choice other than to secede from the human race.
It has nothing to offer him, nor he, it.
By his act of secession, he adds to what-is, by taking away from what-is-not.
Nobody ever said it would be easy :)
No, it is certainly not easy. :D
