Everything begins with the breath. While we cannot live without water, we can neither live without the breath. From the moment of birth to the moment of death we breathe. The air between our ground and outer space is for us like water is to aquatic life. The air around interacts with our body. What we breathe out reacts with that which is in our environment, when we breathe back in our environment reacts with us.
When a person if full of depression or feeling a little blue, exercise can increase the amount of oxygen in our body revitalizing chi. Sometimes we can practice some breathing exercises that will help with a recharge. Being one with Tao, it is important that we find ways to manage our energy. With energy managed we can maintain a form of harmony. When that harmony is disrupted we must find a way to return. It is wise to know that however far one moves away from that harmony will take the same distance to get back. It is not so much the process to return as it is knowing what works for you for maintaining.

Unconscious breath is the pathway to existence.
Semi-conscious breath is the pathway to living.
Conscious breath is the pathway to enlightenment.
Being breathed is connecting with tao.
