Tortoise

     In A Warrior’s Manual is a saying:

The crane is good at nurturing the spirit, so it lives for a thousand years. The tortoise is good at nurturing energy, so it can survive a century without food.

The prolonging of life is through the conservation of energy. When people yield and not waste energy they will nurture energy and remain full. When people continuously have senseless desires and chase down what isn’t necessary then energy is wasted. With wasted energy there has to be more consumption to replace what is not nurtured. More resources are consumed and the circle continues. By maintaining spirit they will always be complete. With full energy and stability life expands further and healthier and deterioration is minimal as the aging process continues. With the spirit and energy together life prospers over a great span of time.

That was just what I needed right now. It nourished me. Thank you.
