Brain wiring change

Meditation can change the wiring in your brain in as little as 11 hours of meditation over a few weeks. The changes can even be seen on a brain scan and also change a person’s behavior for the better. This was reported on NPR’s Science Friday and is worth listening to the 10 minute interview.

Well: it certainly did that for me.
But I don't think it rewired the brain, as much as highlight the location of the On/Off Switch.

For weeks, I feared I had done some permanent damage to my brain, because it was so eerily silent.

But meditation is wonderful, if possibly dangerous for some.
The big secret, for me, was to realize there was no goal I had to reach.
The real result occurred when I stopped trying to "get somewhere".

The "somewhere" I could only get to by not trying to, was a pinpoint of pure consciousness, surrounded by infinite space.

And no: there were no drugs involved :)

Birds shouldn't take drugs anyway. :D
